バガボンドは1976年に創業。パリで「源氏」という日本料理レストランを営んでいた松岡国彦さんが日本に戻り、40歳の時にオープン。カウンターの上に掛けられた写真の中で、白い着物姿でサングラスをかけ、葉巻をふかしながらウイスキーグラスを手に持つ男が松岡さんだ。
VAGABOND began its history in 1976 when Kunihiko Matsuoka opened it when he was 40 after going back to Japan. Before then, he had run a Japanese restaurant called Genji in Paris. In a photo hung over the counter, you can see him young in a white Kimono with a cigar in his mouth and a whiskey glass in his hand.
